ARTIST TALK: Sam Scott

Join us for an artist talk with the incredible Sam Scott. Scott has been a ceramic artist in Seattle since 1968 and has worked predominately in porcelain on the potter’s wheel. His iconic forms are defined by functional simplicity and his use of high contrast between the white porcelain contrast between the white porcelain surface with a black matte glaze.

Scott's long legacy in Seattle includes working with Robert Sperry, Patti Warashina and Howard Kottler as well as teaching at the University of Washington, Everett Community College and Shoreline Community College.

In this artist talk, Scott will discuss his career in ceramics, his artistic influences and how he developed his own signature surfaces design techniques.
