How to Throw Your Day Away: Beginning Wheel Throwing SCHOLARSHIP
How to Throw Your Day Away: Beginning Wheel Throwing SCHOLARSHIP
Instructor: Becca Headline • Tuesday • 6:00PM - 9:00PM • January 14th - March 18th • Beginner • Adult (18 years+).
Throughout this course we will explore the process of creating functional pieces with clay on the wheel. Starting with wedging and centering clay, moving on to pulling up the walls and timing the clay just right in order to trim it, followed by glazing. We will begin with the basics of learning how to make a cylinder and progress to more challenging forms like bowls and mugs. By the end of the course each student should have a comfortable grasp on the ceramic process from start to finish.
Each class will begin with a demo followed by guided advice specific to the needs of each individual. I like to teach by nurturing where students are within the process while still challenging what they think they are capable of doing.
Note: This is an 8-week class. There will be no class on 1/20 and 2/17 due to the federal holidays.
This is an Beginner Level class. No clay experience is necessary.
