Clay Basics
Clay Basics
Instructor: Alison Grimm • Sundays • 10:00AM - 1:00PM • September 15th - November 17th • Beginner • Adult (18 years+).
This 10-week intro class will cover the basics of clay from soup to nuts! Or rather, from hand construction, to wheel throwing, to glazing! Focusing on beginner projects, students will be led through the basics of handbuilding techniques (slab, pinch, coil) and will gain a familiarity with wheel throwing (centering, pulling a wall, and basic forms - cup, bowl, plate). We will also cover some surface design basics and how to finish your pieces with glazing. This class is geared toward complete beginners who are unsure about what direction they want to take in clay. This will give you a taste of it all!
This is a Beginner Level Class. No prior clay experience is necessary.
