Throwing Huge Pots with East Creek Joe
Throwing Huge Pots with East Creek Joe
Instructor: Joe Robinson • Saturday • 1:00PM - 5:00PM • March 1st • Intermediate / Advanced • Adult (18 years+).
In this one day workshop, learn to throw and build larger pots on the wheel with instructor Joe Robinson of East Creek Art.
We’ll start with a focus on foundational skills and the bio-mechanics that underpin any successful wheel practice. Once we’ve ensured a solid foundation for our bodies and our pots, we’ll move on to connecting multiple wheel thrown sections to build pots on the wheel almost without limit. I’ll conclude by demonstrating building a 2 section, 50 lb piece to fill a large electric kiln, and offer coaching and support as each participant stretches their own wheel skills.
No special tools or skills are required; the point is to improve general throwing skills through a focus on making larger pots. This approach can help anyone with any level of experience.
