Shapely Vessels: Intermediate Handbuilding
Shapely Vessels: Intermediate Handbuilding
Instructor: Hanako O'Leary • Mondays • 6:00PM - 9:00PM • August 16th - November 18th • Intermediate • Adult (18 years+).
This class is an opportunity to work with resident artist, Hanako O’Leary whose practice revolves around hand built vessels exploring feminine archetypes from world mythology. Hanako’s work tends towards figurative sculpture and masks. Best for intermediate and advanced artists, this 8-week course will focus on individual projects exploring the abstracted human figure and storytelling through vessels. The course will cover handbuilding techniques with a focus on coil building.
Note: This is an 8-week class. There will be no class on 10/14 and 11/11 due to the federal holidays.
Note: Instructor will be away at an Artist Residency and there will be a sub for class on 10/7 and 10/21.
This is an Intermediate Level Class. We recommend students for this class already be familiar with basic hand building techniques like coil and pinch building techniques, but beginners are also welcome.
