Ready to take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level? This Next-Level class is aimed at students who have taken a beginning wheel class and are ready to dive deeper.

Over the course of ten weeks and four mini projects, students will expand their throwing repertoire beyond the basic cylinder or bowl. You will refine control over size and shape and develop consistency by throwing a set of nesting bowls / cups. You will learn further techniques to manipulate the profile of your pot, such as collaring in clay, and use these skills to make vases, bottles, and closed forms like eggs and doughnuts. You will also hone your trimming by making a lidded jar / teapot. A running theme through the class will be the altering and joining together of thrown pieces, to create functional and/or sculptural forms with added interest, complexity or height.

This is a Next-Level Class. Knowledge of the basics is recommended.
