In this class, students will explore human anatomy in combination with animal, mythological, and fantastical forms, with the goal of creating a creepy creature fit for any Halloween window display (or other spooky setup). Starting with representational figure sculpting technique, we'll quickly move into exploring texture, proportion, and other modifications based off of students' specific reference images and inspirations.

This course will cover various hand building techniques with a focus on solid building and coil building. Students can expect to leave the class with one to two creepy creature sculptures.

Creativity and individuality are encouraged! Each student will have the opportunity to pursue their own interests in figurative/creature sculpture and bring their own creative vision and style to the studio.

This is an All Levels Class. Some clay experience is recommended, but not required. All skill levels are welcome.
