Beast Building, All-Levels Handbuilding Workshop

SPECIAL VISITING ARTIST EVENT!

Come build some fantastical beasts with local ceramics super-star, Eva Funderburgh, who is known for her emotive animal forms and unique imaginary creatures.

This will be a 2-Day Workshop:

Day 1: Saturday, May 18th,, 2:00PM - 6:00PM

Day 2: Sunday, May 19th, 2:00PM - 7:00PM

In this workshop, you will learn her techniques for building her sculptures and make your own monster. The two day workshop will cover using multiple pinch pots to build one creature, along with tips for capturing movement and emotion within your form. Eva will also demonstrate how these techniques scale up, by demonstrating the making of giant, 15lb "punch pots".

• An apron, or comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. 

• Any creative flourishes you would like to give your beast (jewelry, trinkets, fabrics, etc.)

Please note:

• This workshop is for shaping and building your beast and will not include glazing. Participants who are not enrolled in a class or studio access can make arrangements for our studio team to do a clear glaze dip if desired.

• We are in Pioneer Square, so please plan ahead so that you have enough time to park. You don’t want to miss anything!

• Workshops do not grant you Studio Access outside of your workshop time.
