In this 8-week class students will explore creating animals through sculptural handbuilding techniques. Beginning with small maquettes, we’ll study a variety of techniques for both wall pieces and free-standing sculptures. Bring your imagination! Animal forms can be mythical, fanciful, or personal. Students will also have the opportunity to build functional ware for their furry friends. You will learn various techniques to form clay, including: pinch, slab, coil building and carving. The final class will be a fun gathering and potluck where students can share their work, discuss their creative process, and reflect on what they’ve learned.

This is a Beginner level class. No prior clay experience is necessary.
