Sudhi Tirnahalli
Sudhi Tirnahalli is a Clay Artist, Musician and a Technologist born in India and residing in the Seattle area. He grew up fascinated with the tactile nature of human hands, feel for materials and passionately hand crafted through school years while experimenting with natural materials like Cotton, Silk, wood and soil. He was excited about Math and Science in high school and continued to earn a “Bachelor’s in Engineering” degree specializing in Electronics and Communications. While working in the field of Technology, he fell in love with Pottery and decided to pursue it as a parallel career.

Bio
Sudhi led Development, Competency building and Learning programs/initiatives for Global Technology organizations for many years. He is very passionate about teaching and currently teaches Pottery in his own studio and at several studios in the Pacific Northwest region. His design element incorporates showcasing the raw nature of clay. In line with that, most of his pottery has little to no glazes and brings out the true color and character of the materials. He works with Terracotta, Stoneware and porcelain clay bodies with a surface décor that incorporates Mathematical symbols/equations, Code snippets, Folk Art forms and ancient scripts from several Sanskrit based languages.
He is currently designing his own Soda kiln at home to study the influence of temperature on clay bodies when the thermal components such as Pressure and Heat are independently controlled.
