Al Tennant was an accomplished ceramic artist, educator, and true “potter’s potter,” widely respected throughout the Northwest wood-firing community. Over a career spanning Montana, Alaska, and Washington, he created work inspired by nature and the human form. Tennant embraced wood firing for its unpredictability, allowing heat, flame, and ash to create richly varied surfaces that brought mystery, depth, and contemplation to his pots.
