Exhibitions

because I could not stop for Death features work by resident artist Ryana Lawson that explores the fragility of life in the natural world and the interplay of tension in the physicality of her pieces through the interaction of built forms: a large snake constricts against a pot, the necks of two swans are entangled in a knot and two slugs are entwined in their intricate dance of love.  Each handbuilt piece acts as a memento mori – of the curious contrast between fauna and flora that exist among us, as a reminder of how fleeting and precious life is.
