Students will get to learn the vast capabilities of coloring slip through the use of mason stains: creating biaxial, triaxial and quadraxial blends; as well as blending commercial underglazes. We will journey through the basics of color theory to create cohesive color combinations that will then be used to transform the surface of our pots through a variety of surface decorative techniques (i.e. painting, sgraffito, paper resist, etc.) Our colored slips can also be turned into throwable clay and combined for marbled effects! The possibilities are truly endless. Select colors will be provided; however participants are also encouraged to bring their own commercial underglazes and/or mason stains of their choosing.

This is an All Levels class.
